We might as well admit it, we had a feeling this was coming – lucky 3D TV owners will be able to view some parts of the London 2012 Olympics in the crystal clear tridimensional format.
It was the BBC’s director of the London games, Roger Mosey, who spilled the beans saying that the opening and closing ceremonies, daily sporting highlights and a few other live broadcasts will be aired in 3D.

We all remember Stephen Spielberg being keen on giving the first part of his Jurassic Park trilogy the tridimensional treatment, however his latest film, War Horse, was simply not meant to be in 3D, the director suggested.

3DTVwatcher has previously reported that the finals of Strictly Come Dancing will be broadcast in 3D, and this has proved to be a huge success for the BBC.
On average, the entertainment show attracted 53,000 viewers and was more popular than the Wimbledon finals – the British Broadcaster Corporation’s last major 3D project.

Good news comes to fans of Strictly Come Dancing, as it has been confirmed that the final episode will be screened in cinemas across the UK in 3D.
According to recent reports, cinemas in 15 cities will be showing the spectacle in the tridimensional format.

One of the most important events for the Prince’s Trust will be coming to you again this winter in 3D. The Prince’s Trust Rock Gala will be broadcast on Sky Arts 1 and Sky 3D.
