Are you waiting for the release of the Great Gatsby 3D?

You’ll just have a bit longer, summer 2013 to be exact. We know, 3DTVwatcher feels the same way.

In a recent announcement on behalf of Warner Bros. Pictures, Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, confirmed that the delay was due to the director’s strive for perfection. Not any kind of perfection but tridimensional perfection.

We’re all familiar with Baz Luhrmann’s work, from Romeo+Juliet to Moulin Rouge, the movies are picturesque and meticulously detailed.

Also, as we’ve all learned from flicks such as Piranha 3D, inserting the format just for the sake of it simply does not work, whereas mastering it ala Avatar does.

Kwan Vandenberg said in the announcement:

“Baz is known for being innovative, but with this film he has done something completely unexpected—making it in 3D—while capturing the emotion, the intimacy, the power and the spectacle of the time.

“The responses we’ve had to some of the early sneak peeks have been phenomenal, and we think ‘The Great Gatsby’ will be the perfect summer movie around the world.”

3DTVwatcher cannot wait to watch the tridimensional movie – we’re generally smitten by the 20s and after such a long wait, this simply has to be a treat.
