If you are fanatical about 3D TV and just happen to be thinking about moving to China anytime soon, you will be pleased to know that a 3D TV channel service is going to be trialled there as soon as the Spring Festival kicks in.

Shows and programs in 3D will be offered from morning to midnight on a whole spectrum of channels including China Central Television, Beijing Television, Tianjing Broadcasting TV, Jiangsu TV and Shenzhen TV.

In fact, all is saved for those who want to see the 2012 Olympic Games in London as close to reality as possible, as these will be broadcasted in 3D among other sporting events, animations, documentaries, TV shows as well as other content.

As you might have expected, only proud 3D TV owners will be able to watch the programmes in the tridimensional format.

Cai Fuchao, Head of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) was quoted as saying:

“The launch of the 3D channel is a significant step in the development of China’s television.”

Indeed, if the trend catches on 3DTVwatcher predicts a tremendous boost in sales for 3D TV manufacturers: picture all 500m Chinese homes with TVs binning their old sets for brand new tridimentional ones.

Some Chinese TV manufacturers have already started riding the 3D wave by slashing prices on their 3D offerings in hopes to boost sales.
