Getting into 3D technology can be an expensive task with 3D TVs and computer screens sometimes costing double that of the traditional 2D electronics. Now, however, a company has come up with a solution to the 3D woes with a screen that can be fitted over a laptop.
Spatial View has come up with a 15.6-incher called 3DeeScreen which was designed to be fitted over laptops using Windows 7. Once a special program is installed, 3D games and movies can be…

A collaboration between the three big companies specialising in 3D to bring standardised glasses is now underway.
A statement from Sony announced that the “Full HD 3D Glasses initiative” was right on track, revealing that the companies involved were now working together to develop standard 3D glasses.
Back in August Samsung, Sony and Panasonic said that they would work together to bring a standard to active 3D glasses.
The standardisation of those would mean that everyone interested could have a special set instead…

If you open 3DTVwatcher’s drawer – you’ll probably find a whole array of 3D glasses carefully segregated by brand.
All right, maybe we lied but we quite like the artistic mess in (and on) our desks but at least we can always find the pair we are looking for.
Thankfully, we didn’t even need to search for this pair, as it just stands out from all the rest.
When we at 3DTVwatcher first got our hands on Polaroid’s 1 VIP N8103A model, we were smitten with the quality. Watching…

3D glasses may become universal as Electronics giants Sony, Samsung and Panasonic have teamed up with 3D glasses manufacturer Xd Limited to develop glasses that can be used to view any content.
These new specs will not only be suitable for viewing content in the cinema, they will also be suitable for watching 3D TVs.

“We believe active 3D…

Opticians have yet to embrace the 3D experience fully.
Although the optic industry has commented on the effects of 3D on the eyesight, 3D glasses have not been produced.
Many 3D viewers find the plastic glasses offered in the cinema uncomfortable and ill fitting. Others have complained about headaches and blurred vision and better manufactured glasses might end this problem.
LG has recognised the potential gap in the market and collaborated recently with UK fashion designer Giles…

The immensely popular app Angry Birds, may be soon available in 3D.
Earlier this year, Rovio, creator of the franchise, has told of its plans to bring the game in which birds are catapulted to hit marks, onto game consoles.
“We’re looking at consoles and seeing how we can bring the current gameplay, the basic slingshot offering, into a really compelling and engaging title for the current consoles.”
“There’s a good opportunity there to do a lot in terms of adding a lot of polish to the graphics…

Forget 3D glasses, 3D phones, or 3D TVs, the best 3D gadget is not eatable but it produces edible 3D content.
Researchers at Exeter University developed a printer which outputs chocolate in 3D.
Dr Lian Hao, lead scientist at the University, said that chocolate printing, just like any other 3D printing technique, starts with a flat cross-section image – similar to that produced by ordinary printers turning out images.
He continued saying:
“Then you do a 3D shape – layer by layer, printing chocolate instead of ink, like if…

My3D makers were wondering if their new product would make the 3DTVWatcher team smile, or perhaps even giggle?
It might be worth refreshing your memory – the bigger part of the team was a Hasbro’s Transformers Helmet fanatic, while the minority would not swap their Guccis for anything else.
Nevertheless, that all changed quite quickly as the whole 3DTVWatcher newsdesk was queuing up to try out the My3D binoculars.
It’s a good thing that our online team is a young bunch (at least at…

Perhaps possible is a bit misleading if you don’t want to look mad whilst using the device out in public, but this is possible nonetheless.
Children’s toy manufacturer Hasbro has been known to make 3D devices that little bit more fun, recently launching a Transformers helmet which incorporated 3D glasses.
Despite the lack of adult sizes, or the convenient availability to the UK, Hasbro has got the 3DTVWatcher seal of approval for that particular 3D enabling headwear.
Its latest device though, we’re not so sure about.
The My3D is…
