The immensely popular app Angry Birds, may be soon available in 3D.
Earlier this year, Rovio, creator of the franchise, has told of its plans to bring the game in which birds are catapulted to hit marks, onto game consoles.
“We’re looking at consoles and seeing how we can bring the current gameplay, the basic slingshot offering, into a really compelling and engaging title for the current consoles.”
“There’s a good opportunity there to do a lot in terms of adding a lot of polish to the graphics and still you get high resolution, you get better frame-rates, you can really do physics-intensive stuff.
“You can still do the same sort of slingshot game and keep it really engaging and interesting and make it fresh again.
“And then doing different stuff with 3D graphics and looking at building completely different experiences with more storytelling and that kind of thing.”
Last June, it was confirmed that Angry Birds has been downloaded more than 250m times.
In a separate story, LG launched the new smartphone with the ability to convert 2D applications into 3D. This means, that Angry Birds in 3D has arrived sooner than expected.

More than focusing on 3D (something that consoles themselves will take care of) Rovio will try to keep the game fresh with constant monthly updates, to keep gamers hooked as long as they can.
