British comedian, TV panel host and general know-all Stephen Fry has lent his services to Sky, Sky 3D to be precise.
Fry has produced a 3 1/2 minute guide on the phenomenon that is 3D TV. The guide was launched last week and can be accessed via sky.com/3D or via the Anytime service on a Sky+ or Sky+HD box.
Anyone who has a passing interest in 3D TV will know that Sky will be launching their own 3D TV channel on October the 1st and Fry has said…
“3D TV in the home is going to be the next exciting chapter in television history and I’m delighted to be able to offer a little clarity on the subject.”
Exciting? Yes. Successful? We’ll have to wait and see.
After mixed reviews from football fans watching Sky’s 3D coverage in their local pub and the predictable high cost of a 3D TV it will definitely be one for the early adopters out there. In saying that, Sky HD was met with similar cynicism and look how many HD channels are available these days!
